The US authorities stated that the primary investigation points to the collapse of the 2.57 km-long Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore city after it was hit by a container ship as an accident, with no evidence of a terrorist attack. The US President, Joe Biden, thanked the Indian crew members aboard the ship for being able to alert authorities that they lost control of their vessel. Six workers missing after the bridge collapse have been presumed dead, the official said, and the rescue operation has been called off.
