2024 NSD Monroe1218's Specialty Paper Challenge

If you are like me - you LOVE specialty paper - mulberry paper, glazed paper, glitter paper, metallic paper, vellum.... you name it - I love it! BUT.... I rarely ever reach for it when I am scrapping.  I don't know why - but it's never something I think of until I am done with whatever I'm working on.  So... this challenge is to pull out some of that beautiful paper that's been pushed back and make it the star, or at least a strong supporting character!  At least 1/3 of your project should be specialty paper.

Cards are allowed for this challenge as well!

My example has glazed patterned paper (kind of hard to see) but the bubble wrap texture has a clear embossed glaze on parts of it and there is also metallic copper paper under the journaling strips.  The bubble wrap paper has been in my stash for YEARS!!!

One lucky winner will be chosen at random to win a fabulous embossing folder bundle generously donated by Altenew!!
Sprinkles will be randomly awarded to participants!

I love this challenge. I usually save my specialty papers for my art journal but this will challenge me to use it for a layout.

It doesn't have to be the main background but it should be more than just a few scraps here and there - let's say at least 1/3 of the layout should be specialty paper.

I have a couple of Iris bins of specialty papers (and my collection keeps growing) but to USE any of it might just give me the flutters. I am committing myself to using TWO large pieces. (and buying two new products to quickly replace them!)

Ok, this was perfect for this since we are going to a wedding next month. The featured  paper is glitter paper but I made the card base from shimmer paper so I actually have 2 specialty papers. The brownish stripe is glitter ribbon.
